Japan's Nikkei Stock Average is trading higher with continued gains seen in technology-related stocks. Financial sector stocks are also up on expectations of a Fed rate cut next week.
Among tech names, Tokyo Electron is up 3.5%, Kokusai Electric gains 8.1% and Advantest is 1.4% higher. In banking stocks, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial is up 0.6% and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial is 0.3% higher.
Toyota and Honda are up 0.5% and 0.3%, respectively. SoftBank Group, a conglomerate whose stock hit record highs in recent sessions, is seeing some profit-taking, with the stock now down 1.6%. The Nikkei is up 0.6% at 44617.31.
