Nikkei Rises 2.5% to All-Time High, Led by Electronics Stocks

Japan's Nikkei Stock Average closed 2.5% higher at a record 66329.50, driven by hopes for a U.S.-Iran peace deal. Electronics stocks led the gains.
Murata Manufacturing gained 13% and TDK climbed 8.2%. The index rose 12% in May, bringing year-to-date gains to 32%.
The 10-year Japanese government bond yield fell 4 basis points to 2.655% as fears about higher energy prices eased. The dollar is at 159.26 yen, compared with Y159.24 as of Thursday 5 p.m. Eastern time.
Investors are focusing on developments in the Middle East and their implications for oil prices.
