26th March 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened 116 points, or 0.49%, higher at 23,460. The National Enterprises Index saw an increase of 27 points, or 0.31%, reaching 8,643, while the Technology Index gained 19 points, or 0.36%, climbing to 5,537.
In the technology sector, performances were mixed. Tencent remained unchanged, while Alibaba rose by 0.7%, Meituan increased by 0.3%, and Xiaomi Group saw a modest gain of 0.1%. Conversely, JD.com fell by 0.1%, and Kuaishou experienced a decline of 0.7% following its earnings report.
The financial sector performed well, with HSBC Holdings up by 1.8%, AIA Insurance increasing by 1.2%, Ping An Insurance rising by 0.8%, and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange gaining 0.7%.
Automobile stocks also saw upward movement, with BYD rising by 0.2%, Geely Auto increasing by 1.6%, NIO up by 0.5%, Xiaopeng Motors gaining 1.6%, and Li Auto climbing by 1.1%.
